Leontopodium leontopodioides is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Asteraceae family. Known for its resilience and unique aesthetic, this species is distinct from the European alpine edelweiss, showing significant tolerance to the continental climates of East Asia and central steppe regions.
Originating from the diverse landscapes of Mongolia, China, and Siberia, the plant has evolved to survive in extreme conditions. It typically inhabits rocky slopes, dry grasslands, and meadows where soil nutrients are scarce, demonstrating excellent adaptation to harsh environmental stressors like high winds and extreme temperature fluctuations.
