Native to the Balkan Peninsula, specifically regions of Albania, this species is well-adapted to rocky, mountainous terrain. It is primarily cultivated for its aesthetic appeal, being recognized for its distinctively glaucous foliage and elegant flower heads that resemble classic oxeye daisies.

Botanically, the species is defined by its compact growth habit and silver-toned, waxy leaves that serve as a protection against drought. The flowers form daisy-like heads with white ray florets and yellow central discs, providing a sharp contrast against the silvery leaves. This structure allows the plant to thrive in exposed, sunlight-rich environments where other species might struggle.
