Wild leek

Wild leek (Allium ampeloprasum L. var. ampeloprasum), also known as broadleaf wild leek, is a perennial plant belonging to the Amaryllidaceae family. It is recognized as the ancestor of the common leek. The plant is native to Southern Europe and Western Asia, where it has been cultivated for centuries due to its culinary and nutritional properties.

The botanical characteristics of the plant include a robust root system and a large, bulbous base. It produces long, flat leaves that emerge from a central stalk, which can reach up to 100 cm in height during the flowering stage.
