Lupinus subcarnosus Hook., commonly known as a type of buffalo clover or Texas lupine, is an annual leguminous plant within the Fabaceae family. As a nitrogen-fixing species, it plays a vital role in natural ecosystems and is increasingly studied for its potential in sustainable agriculture and soil restoration programs in arid regions.

The species is native to the southern parts of North America, particularly Texas, where it thrives in sandy soils and open grasslands. It is highly adapted to regions with mild winters and hot, dry summers.
