Lysimachia ephemerum

Lysimachia ephemerum, commonly known as ephemeral loosestrife, is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Primulaceae family. It is highly valued in horticulture for its elegant, spiky inflorescences and structural form, which provide a distinct vertical element in garden beds.

The plant originates from Southwestern Europe, specifically the Iberian Peninsula. Its natural habitat includes damp meadows and stream banks, which dictates its preference for moist environments. Botanically, the plant grows to a height of 80–100 cm. It features smooth, lance-shaped, glaucous-green leaves arranged in opposite pairs along the stem.
