Mimulus cupreus, commonly known as the copper musk, is an ornamental herbaceous plant belonging to the Phrymaceae family. While it is technically a perennial in its native high-altitude habitats, it is predominantly cultivated as an annual or short-lived tender perennial in most agricultural and horticultural environments across the globe.

The plant originates from the mountainous regions of Chile, which dictates its preference for cool temperatures and moist environments. It thrives in conditions where the atmosphere remains humid, and the soil does not reach excessive heat levels.
