Nemesia hybrids represent a highly decorative group of plants within the Scrophulariaceae family. These hybrids were developed through the cross-breeding of various South African native species to enhance their aesthetic value. Originating from the diverse climates of South Africa, these plants have been adapted for cultivation in various parts of the world. In temperate regions, they are grown as annuals due to their intolerance to freezing temperatures. Their popularity stems from their ability to thrive in pots, hanging baskets, and as vibrant additions to flower beds, provided they receive appropriate seasonal care.
Botanically, Nemesia hybrids feature branching stems with serrated, opposite leaves. The flowers are zygomorphic, consisting of two lips, and appear in dense terminal clusters.
