Ornithogalum balansae is a perennial bulbous plant belonging to the Asparagaceae family. Often referred to as a species of the Star-of-Bethlehem genus, this plant is characterized by its compact habit and early flowering season, making it a popular choice for gardeners interested in spring-blooming ephemeral species.

The plant originates from the regions of Asia Minor, with a significant distribution across Turkey. It typically thrives in rocky slopes, mountain meadows, and woodland edges.
