Lancet-leaved star-of-Bethlehem (Ornithogalum lanceolatum) is a perennial bulbous plant belonging to the Asparagaceae family. As an ephemeral species, it completes its primary life cycle early in the season, capitalizing on spring moisture before entering dormancy during the hot and dry summer months.

Native to regions across the Eastern Mediterranean and the Near East, this plant has evolved to thrive in harsh environments, such as rocky slopes, meadows, and sparse scrublands.
