Common poppy (lat. Papaver rhoeas L.) is an annual herbaceous plant that belongs to the Papaveraceae family. The plant originates from the Mediterranean region and Western Asia but has successfully naturalized across Europe, North America, and parts of the Southern Hemisphere.
