Industrial or greenhouse production must replicate these mountainous conditions, specifically maintaining high humidity levels and preventing exposure to intense solar radiation.
Botanically, the plant develops from a fleshy bulb, producing broad leaves and a robust scape that carries the distinctive flowers. The flower structure is specialized, featuring long, narrow tepals that form a bell-like tube.
