Plumed celosia (Celosia argentea L. var. plumosa Voss) is a prominent ornamental crop belonging to the Amaranthaceae family. Known for its feathery, flame-like inflorescences, this plant is widely cultivated in horticulture and floriculture for its intense colors and long-lasting display in gardens and flower arrangements.

Originating from tropical regions in Africa, Asia, and the Americas, celosia is grown as a tender annual in most temperate climates. Because it is highly sensitive to cold, it requires careful timing in greenhouse production or direct sowing once the soil has sufficiently warmed up in the spring. It is a staple crop for summer bedding and container gardening.

Botanically, the plant features erect, often branched stems with alternate leaves that can range from light green to deep burgundy.
