Slender mountain mint

Slender mountain mint (Pycnanthemum tenuifolium) is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Lamiaceae family. It is recognized for its distinctive narrow, needle-like foliage and intense mint-like fragrance, which makes it a highly valuable species in the essential oil and herbal industry.

Originating from North America, this plant is naturally found in prairies, open woodlands, and along roadside meadows. Its cultivation has expanded due to its adaptability to varying soil types and its exceptional role as a high-quality nectar source for pollinating insects, particularly honeybees, making it a favorite for agricultural apiary sites.

Botanically, the plant features erect stems that can reach heights of up to 90 centimeters. Its linear leaves are densely arranged along the stalks. During the summer months, it produces clustered, white to pale lavender flowers, creating a visually striking display while providing a continuous source of nectar throughout the blooming period.
