The botanical structure consists of a basal rosette of deep green, rugose leaves covered in fine hairs. During late spring and early summer, the plant produces tall, slender stems featuring attractive violet or purple flowers with prominent yellow stamens. This structure is perfectly adapted to survive in the narrow crevices of cliffs, where competition from other plant species is minimal.
Climatic and soil requirements for successful cultivation include a cool, shaded environment with minimal direct sunlight. A well-drained, porous substrate that mimics rocky fissures is essential.
