The Moupin rhododendron (Rhododendron moupinense) is a distinguished evergreen shrub belonging to the Ericaceae family. Known for its early spring blooms and compact growth habit, it is a prized specimen for alpine gardens and controlled outdoor environments where climate conditions allow for its development.

Originating from the mountainous regions of Sichuan, China, this species typically grows on cliffs or as an epiphyte on trees. In an agricultural and horticultural context, it requires specific conditions that mimic its wild habitat: high humidity, moderate temperatures, and significant protection from harsh wind and direct scorching sun.

Botanically, it is recognized for its glossy, oval leaves and spectacular bell-shaped flowers that range from white to deep pink.
