The Spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) is a herbaceous perennial belonging to the family Asparagaceae. The plant originates from the tropical and subtropical regions of Southern Africa. Its natural habitat includes rocky terrain and forest floors, where it has evolved to be resilient and shade-tolerant. The presence of tuberous, fleshy roots serves as a critical biological adaptation, enabling the plant to store nutrients and water, which contributes to its overall vigor in diverse growing environments.
