The plant originates from the Seychelles, specifically found in the mountain forests of Mahe. Due to its very specific ecological requirements, its distribution is naturally limited to high-altitude humid zones. Because of its rarity and slow growth rate, Roscheria melanochaetes is not grown as a standard agricultural crop, but rather preserved and cultivated in specialized conservatory environments.
