The native range of this species extends across temperate and subtropical regions of Eurasia. In agricultural environments, it thrives in regions with moderate moisture and mild winters. It is typically found in habitats such as forest clearings, riverbanks, and slopes, where it benefits from high humidity and fertile, well-draining soil structures that prevent waterlogging.
