Rock sanicle (Sanicula saxatilis) is a rare perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Apiaceae family. This species is highly specialized, having evolved to thrive in the harsh, rocky environments typical of high-elevation terrains where few other plants can establish a root system.

The native distribution of this plant is restricted to specific rocky outcrops in California.
