The plant originates from the mountainous regions of Central Europe, specifically the Alps. Its native habitat consists of crags, cliffs, and rocky meadows. Botanically, it is characterized by dense rosettes of fleshy leaves, which often display ciliate (hairy) margins, a key feature for identifying this specific variety.
