Coastal groundsel

Coastal groundsel (Senecio leucanthemifolius) is a herbaceous plant belonging to the Asteraceae family. While often categorized within wild flora, this species is noted in agronomy for its remarkable ability to colonize degraded or saline habitats where conventional crops struggle to establish growth.

Originating from the Mediterranean basin, this plant has adapted to diverse coastal environments. Its native range spans across Southern Europe and North Africa, where it thrives in sandy, well-drained soils.
