Vallesian catchfly

Vallesian catchfly (Silene vallesia) is a perennial herb belonging to the Caryophyllaceae family. Known for its resilience in rugged landscapes, it is a specialized alpine plant that has evolved to survive in some of the harshest environments in Europe, specifically within high-altitude mountain ranges.

The native range of this species is largely restricted to the Alps. It is found in habitats characterized by sparse vegetation, rocky scree, and limestone soils.
