Forrest rowan

Forrest rowan (Sorbus forrestii) is a deciduous tree or shrub belonging to the Rosaceae family. Named after the famous Scottish plant collector George Forrest, who discovered the species in the Yunnan province of China, this tree is highly prized by horticulturists for its unique ornamental berries and graceful foliage structure during autumn.

Native to high-altitude mountainous regions of Southwestern China, the Forrest rowan thrives in cool, temperate climates. Its natural habitat includes woodland margins and rocky slopes, which has influenced its hardiness and preference for well-drained, nutrient-rich soils.
