Vanhoutte spirea

Vanhoutte spirea (Spiraea x vanhouttei) is a deciduous ornamental shrub belonging to the Rosaceae family. As a hybrid derived from S. cantoniensis and S. trilobata, it is widely recognized for its graceful, arching branches that create a fountain-like shape, especially when laden with a massive display of white flowers during the spring season.

Originally developed in the 19th century, this hybrid has become a staple in landscapes across temperate regions worldwide. Its adaptability to various soil types and its moderate drought tolerance once established make it a versatile plant for both public and private garden projects. It flourishes particularly well in zones with distinct seasonal changes, showing strong resilience to cold winters.
