The native range of this species is primarily concentrated in the mountainous regions of Southern Europe, specifically the Pyrenees. As a crop, it thrives in environments that mimic these alpine conditions, requiring high solar exposure and well-ventilated sites. Regarding cultivation requirements, Thymus nervosus demands excellent soil drainage to prevent root rot, which is its primary physiological vulnerability.
