This species is native to the northern regions of Madagascar, specifically the limestone plateaus of Ankarana. In its natural habitat, the plant grows on rocky soils, thriving in an environment with alternating wet and dry seasons. The botanical structure includes broad, pubescent leaves that provide shade to the trunk and bright yellow, trumpet-shaped flowers.
