Transjordanian mullein (Verbascum transjordanicum) is a distinct species belonging to the Scrophulariaceae family. Known for its adaptation to arid and semi-arid environments, this plant represents a specialized lineage within the genus Verbascum, having evolved to thrive in the harsh climatic conditions of the Transjordan region.

The native range of this species is primarily limited to specific zones in Jordan, where it grows in rocky terrain and exposed landscapes. Its evolutionary history is deeply linked to the Mediterranean and desert-fringe ecosystems, enabling it to endure long periods of drought and high soil salinity, which are common characteristics of its natural habitat.
