Veronica colensoi is a distinctive evergreen shrub belonging to the Plantaginaceae family. Historically associated with the genus Hebe, this plant is now formally classified within the Veronica genus. The species originates from the mountainous regions of the South Island of New Zealand. In its native habitat, it thrives in well-drained, rocky soils, reflecting its high tolerance for poor nutrient conditions but low tolerance for stagnant water.
