Spiked speedwell (lat. Veronica spicata L.) is a herbaceous perennial plant belonging to the Plantaginaceae family. Often confused with other species, it is a distinct, hardy plant highly valued in agriculture and horticulture for its vertical flower spikes and exceptional ability to thrive in diverse ecological conditions.
The species is native to Europe and Western Asia, where it typically inhabits dry meadows, steppe grasslands, and rocky slopes. Because of its wide geographical distribution, the plant has developed a robust tolerance for various environmental factors, including cold winters and hot, dry summer conditions.
