Native to the humid tropical forests of Southeast Asia, specifically regions like Thailand and Indonesia, this plant is well-adapted to high-humidity environments. In an agricultural setting, shade management is essential, as the plant is sensitive to intense, direct tropical sunlight, which can cause leaf scorch.
