The virus primarily affects trees of the Betula genus (birch). It is frequently identified in forest nurseries and urban ornamental landscapes, where high tree density provides favorable conditions for viral circulation and persistent infection within the plant population.

Symptoms of the disease typically manifest as distinct chlorotic stripes, mosaics, and leaf deformities. Infected leaves show reduced chlorophyll content, which compromises the tree's photosynthetic capacity.
