Dalechampia leaf curl begomovirus (Begomovirus dalechampiae) is a significant plant pathogen belonging to the Geminiviridae family. As a typical member of the Begomovirus genus, it possesses a single-stranded DNA genome. This virus is primarily transmitted in a persistent manner by whiteflies, particularly species of the Bemisia tabaci complex, which acquire the virus while feeding on infected plant tissues and subsequently spread it to healthy vegetation.

The virus primarily affects plant species within the Euphorbiaceae family, including the genus Dalechampia. While it is particularly noted for its impact on ornamental plants, the potential for this virus to impact related agricultural crops exists in tropical and subtropical regions. Its ability to adapt to various hosts makes it a persistent threat in both greenhouse and open-field production systems.
