The host range of this virus is primarily focused on the Datura genus, though it possesses the potential to interact with various members of the Solanaceae family. In agricultural settings, it is often viewed as a persistent pathogen that can survive in wild reservoir hosts near cultivated fields.

Symptoms of the infection typically present as severe leaf distortion, curling, and distinct mosaic patterns on the foliage.
