The host range of Begomovirus emiliae primarily includes members of the Asteraceae family, with the genus Emilia being the most notable. These plants serve as major hosts that maintain the viral population in various environments, including gardens and natural habitats where the virus can persist.
Symptoms of the infection typically manifest as severe leaf curling, stunting of the plant, and significant distortion of the upper shoots.
