The virus utilizes a single-stranded DNA genome, which is characteristic of geminiviruses.
Affected Crops. This virus primarily targets members of the Solanaceae family, posing a significant risk to high-value agricultural crops. Major hosts include tobacco, tomatoes, peppers, and various wild weeds that serve as reservoirs for the virus. The ability of the virus to persist in wild plant hosts makes managing the disease particularly challenging for farmers.
Symptoms and Signs of Infection. Infected plants typically exhibit chlorotic patterns, such as yellow mosaic or yellowing of the leaf veins.
