Bean golden mosaic virus (Begomovirus phaseolialbi) is a significant plant pathogen belonging to the Geminiviridae family. It is a viral disease characterized by its ability to cause severe stunting and discoloration, significantly impacting the productivity of legume species.

The primary host for this virus is the common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris). It poses a severe threat, particularly in warm climates where environmental conditions allow for the year-round survival of both the host plant and the virus's primary vector.

Symptoms of the infection typically appear as bright yellow or gold mosaic patterns on the leaves, which often give the plant a distinct mottled appearance.
