The primary host is Solanum crispum, but the virus has a significant range among solanaceous crops. Plants such as tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, and peppers are susceptible to this pathogen, causing major agricultural concerns in both open-field production and protected cultivation environments.

The most prevalent symptoms include leaf curling, yellowing (chlorosis) along leaf margins, and distinct mosaic patterns. In severe cases, plants exhibit dwarfing, shortened internodes, and significant fruit deformation, which results in substantial yield loss and poor quality of the harvested produce.
