The primary host for this pathogen is the tomato plant (Solanum lycopersicum). However, the virus also targets other economically important plants such as peppers and eggplants. Various weed species act as natural reservoirs, allowing the virus to persist in the environment even when primary crops are not present.

Plants infected with this begomovirus typically exhibit stunted growth, upward leaf curling, and severe chlorosis.
