The primary hosts of this virus are economically important crops within the Solanaceae family, particularly tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants. Weed species surrounding agricultural fields often act as symptomless reservoirs, maintaining the viral population when primary crops are not available, which makes total eradication extremely difficult.
