Solanum liwaense begomovirus (Begomovirus solanumliwaense) is a viral pathogen belonging to the Geminiviridae family. As a begomovirus, it possesses a circular single-stranded DNA genome and causes systemic infections in various solanaceous hosts, leading to significant physiological stress in affected plants.

The primary hosts of this virus include tomato, pepper, and eggplant. The transmission of the virus is strictly mediated by insect vectors, primarily the whitefly (Bemisia tabaci). Once a whitefly ingests the virus while feeding on an infected plant, it remains a vector for the duration of its life, effectively spreading the disease across agricultural fields or greenhouses.

Symptoms of the disease are characterized by yellowing, mosaic patterns on leaves, severe curling, and stunting of the plant. In many cases, infected plants exhibit a bushy appearance due to shortened internodes.
