The host range of this virus is largely limited to the Solanaceae family. Economically important crops such as tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants are the most frequently affected. In addition to cultivated plants, the virus frequently survives in wild solanaceous weeds, which act as primary reservoirs throughout the growing season and facilitate the spread to commercial fields.
