This plant virus is a significant threat to agricultural production, primarily affecting plants belonging to the Cucurbitaceae family. Common hosts for this virus include pumpkins, squashes, cucumbers, and melons. The pathogen interferes with plant metabolism at various growth stages, significantly limiting vegetative vigor and reducing both the quantity and quality of the final harvest, causing economic losses for vegetable producers.

Symptoms of the infection typically present as a mosaic pattern on the leaves, characterized by alternating patches of light and dark green.
