Strophostylis mosaic virus is a plant pathogen classified within the genus Comovirus. This virus relies on the host's cellular machinery to replicate its RNA-based genome. The primary hosts for this virus are plants within the Fabaceae family. While it is naturally hosted by wild species of the genus Strophostylis, the pathogen poses a tangible threat to cultivated legumes such as beans and soybeans.
