Mint virus (Menthavirus) is a genus of viruses within the Betaflexiviridae family. It is a severe viral pathogen that specifically affects members of the Lamiaceae family, particularly various species and hybrids within the Mentha genus. This virus functions as a systemic infection, spreading throughout all plant organs and disrupting essential metabolic and physiological development.

The primary hosts for this pathogen include peppermint and other essential oil-bearing mint species cultivated on a commercial scale. The infection causes significant economic damage to plantations by reducing both the quality and yield of the harvested plant material.
