Citrus yellow vein clearing virus (CYVCV) is a significant viral pathogen that poses a threat to citrus production worldwide. The virus primarily affects commercial citrus species such as lemon, orange, and grapefruit trees. While initial infections might go unnoticed, the virus systemically colonizes the plant tissues, eventually showing distinct symptoms that indicate the presence of the pathogen within the host's vascular sap.
Symptoms are mainly identified by the chlorotic clearing of leaf veins, which manifests as a vivid yellow or yellowish-green reticulate pattern on the leaves.
