The primary hosts of this virus include wild species such as Hyoscyamus niger (henbane) and key agricultural crops like tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, and tobacco. Because the virus is capable of persisting in perennial weed reservoirs, it often remains present in fields long after the primary crops have been harvested, re-emerging in the next growing season.
