Repensiviricetes are a class of viruses belonging to the phylum Kitaviricota. These pathogens act as obligate intracellular parasites that infect a diverse range of plant species. By hijacking the plant cell’s machinery, these viruses propagate their own RNA, often causing severe physiological disruption within the host's vascular tissues.

The host range of Repensiviricetes is broad, significantly affecting essential agricultural crops, including solanaceous vegetables, legumes, and various cereal grains.
