The virus primarily affects trees in the Rosaceae family, including various species of apples, pears, and stone fruits. Its host range is significant enough to pose a risk to commercial orchards if not managed properly. The pathogen is often latent, meaning trees may be infected for a long time before showing any clear, observable symptoms.
Symptomatology typically involves localized or systemic chlorotic spotting, mosaic-like patterns on leaves, and reduced leaf size.
