Common pesticide may more than double Parkinson’s disease risk

According to the March 15, 2026 ScienceDaily report on UCLA Health research, long-term exposure to chlorpyrifos was associated with substantially higher Parkinson’s disease risk in populations living in persistently exposed areas.

The report also cites laboratory evidence in animals: movement impairment, loss of dopamine-producing neurons, and toxic protein buildup consistent with Parkinson’s pathology after exposure.
