Kiwicorps

Actinidia 'Kiwicorps' is a fruit-and-decorative variety of Ukrainian selection, growing as a high-growing vine up to 7 m tall. A sturdy support is required for stable growth and fruiting; the plant prefers sunny or semi-shady locations with loose, fertile soil and good drainage. Frost resistance reaches –28 °C, but it is recommended to cover the bushes for winter in the first 1–2 years.

The fruits of 'Kiwicorps' are egg-shaped or oval, weighing from 9 to 11 g (in some sources up to 18 g), initially green, then turning to a purplish hue. The flesh is sweet and aromatic, resembling a mix of apple and pineapple taste, with notes of kiwi and hawthorn. The fruiting period is late August–early September; the first fruits appear on the 3–4th year after planting. Yield ranges from 5 to 20 kg per bush depending on growing conditions.

The fruits can be consumed fresh or used in making compotes, jams, jellies, and juices. The plant is resistant to diseases, however, under wet conditions and poor drainage infection may occur. For fruiting, pollination by a male variety is required, so a male actinidia should be planted nearby. Regular watering, fertilizing, tying stems, pruning, and mulching contribute to healthy growth and increased yield. Due to its decorative appearance, 'Kiwicorps' is often used for greening gazebos, arches, fences, and hedges.
